Norman Wilcock Lib Dem candidate for Wishing Tree ward, 1st May 2008.
I can be contacted at (01424 715176) and would be pleased to hear your views. |
Norman Wilcock has lived in the Borough since 1970 when he was appointed as Headmaster to amalgamate Woodlands Girls' and Grove Boys' Schools. On retirement Norman trained as a Financial Adviser with Hill Samuel, joined the Liberal Democrats and was elected to the County Council in 1993 where he served for eight years on many committees. He played a major part in re-siting of West St Leonards's Primary School, in forming Filsham Valley School, serving as a Governor until recently; and in the Tile Barn/New Horizons School. Other issues being Pebsham Plant and Tip, Water Treatment, Air Pollution and Economic Re-generation and many other local matters.
On the wider front he served on the Fire Authority, a Governor at the Chailey Heritage School for handicapped children, and on the Council of Sussex University. In personal life he is married to June with three children and many grandchildren; being an active Methodist and long time Officer in the Boys Brigade.
In Council matters he believes in co-operation rather than confrontation; has a vital interest in the Borough as a whole, but a particular concern to serve this Ward which has been so central to much of his life. |
