NICK HITS TARGET FOR SWIMATHON

Nick Perry, Lib Dem parliamentary campaigner for Hastings and Rye , has achieved his goal of raising £1066 for Marie Cure Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation – as part of the Swimathon challenge.

Finishing on 20 April, this event enables swimmers of all ages and abilities to raise money for a worthy cause – enabling patients with terminal illness to be cared for at home.

Nick decided to set himself this challenge in memory of his mother, who died of ovarian cancer last October.

On reaching the target Nick said, “I would like to thank all of my sponsors for helping me to reach this target.   My own mum received fantastic care when she needed it.  I hope that I have been able to play my part in securing this for someone else.”

There is still time to sponsor Nick at www.swimathon.org

Please sponsor me for Swimathon 2008....................................................................13th Feb 2008

Dear Friends,

Some of you may know that my mum died from ovarian cancer in October last
year.

I've decided to do Swimathon 2008 in her memory.  And the charity to benefit
will be Marie Cure Cancer Care.

Your money will help fund the work of more than 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses
across the UK and will mean that more terminally ill people can have the
choice to die at home.

[You can help them to carry on their fantastic work and show your support
for my swimming challenge by making a secure online donation using your
credit or debit card.]
